PARTIAL DENTURES FOR WATERLOO, CAMBRIDGE AND KITCHENER PATIENTS

When you have one or more missing teeth, your speech, chewing ability and appearance will all be affected. M&I Denture and Implant Clinic fabricates partial dentures for Waterloo, Cambridge and Kitchener patients who are ready to fill the gaps in their smiles.

It's very important that your missing teeth are replaced as soon as possible. Teeth adjacent to the empty space can shift into the open area, effectively altering your bite and even more of your appearance. It may even lead to additional tooth loss as the shifted teeth can become harder and harder to clean properly.

Partial dentures are removable prosthetic appliances that contain replacement teeth and are designed to clip onto your existing teeth. When fabricated and fitted correctly, no one will even know you were ever missing a tooth!

TYPES OF PARTIAL DENTURES

We regularly work with cast and acrylic partial dentures. There are benefits to both styles.

Cast partial dentures are:
  • Easy to wear: These dentures are attached to a cast metal connector and clip onto your existing teeth like a retainer.

  • Lightweight: The metal is very thin, which keeps the denture light in weight.

  • Open to the palate: These dentures don’t cover the palate, thus improving your ability to taste and feel hot and cold temperatures.

Acrylic partial dentures are:

  • Easy to wear: The false teeth are held together with acrylic material and metal clips that attach to your existing teeth.

  • Natural-looking: This appliance blends into your mouth better due to its colouring.

  • Faster to make: Since this denture doesn’t require the additional work to leave the palate open, we can fit you more quickly with this model.

  • Durable: The acrylic material is thicker and strong enough to withstand daily wear and tear.
